SFR Episode 186 – Christmas for Kids Live Show

We all know that Trevor has no shame, and Kelly has a big mouth. So Kelly promised if Trevor would shave his legs on video, she would get him the Magpul Hunter X-22 stock that he has been wanting (just like Ralphie wanting the Red Ryder BB Gun). Trevor was in (was there ever any doubt???)!

Trevor posted on the SFR Facebook page that this was going to happen and there were many comments that people wanted video and even would pay to see it… That is where this idea was born!

We will be having a LIVE podcast on December 22, 2016 and everyone is welcome to tune in, participate in the live stream and watch Trevor as he shaves his legs.

And since Trevor gets a stock out of this, the rest of the gang thought why not give a Christmas to some deserving families who could use some brightness, cheers and maybe a present or two.

“Almost Home” is located in Kingston Ontario and families come and stay here while their child is at one of Kingston’s near by hospitals. Since Kingston is the Oncology center for South Eastern Ontario the services of Almost Home are used frequently.

We will be collecting donations from our listeners (and viewers) right up until the 24th. Once the money is collected we will go shopping for some presents, some supplies and some Christmas goodies and then deliver them to the home.

Thank you to all our listeners for making some sick children and their families Christmas a little brighter!

SFR Episode 185 – Armed and Reasonable- The Canadian Gun Owner

Tonight Rod Giltaca and Tracey Wilson of the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights (CCFR) join us to discuss the CCFR’s participation in a new documentary that VICE magazine did on Gun Ownership in Canada. The documentary is surprisingly supportive and shows Canadian gun owners as reasonable, law abiding and even a little bit “boring”. Have a listen to the interview, watch the video (link provided) and a huge thank you to Rod and Tracey for coming on. Plus we have the usual listener feedback, talk about next week’s LIVE show (link provided), announce the confirmed site of the Charity Shoot and introduce a new segment. Enjoy!

SFR Episode 184 – Origins – What got the crew into shooting

Ever wanted to know what got Trevor into shooting? FYI, first IPSC gun he shot was a 1911 9mm.  Did you know that Matthew started shooting as a kid…. Even though his parents told him not to. Adriel, he was a young kid on the prairies shooting gophers and not much has changed. And finally Kelly, she was dragged to Michigan for her first Appleseed and the rest is history. Yep, tonight we talk about what got us into shooting and how we progressed to where we are today. Plus as always listener feedback, some announcements about Summer Slam XI and Trevor commits to shaving his legs on an upcoming LIVE podcast for a new Magpul stock… Have a listen to get the details.

SFR Episode 183 – RCMP- Not in my neighbourhood

Tonight Kelly, Trevor, Matthew and Adriel talk with some guests about something that quite a few ranges have been dealing with and are trying to solve. We have Wesley Stevens and Sean Hyndman from  Regina Wildlife Federation join us to talk about their gun club being in the news recently because of challenges with their neighbouring community. The club has been renting out their ranges to the RCMP for Depot training and the neighbours are not too excited about it. What solutions have they come up with? What can we do to ensure we do not have the same problems with our neighbouring communities? Something to think about! Plus as always listener feedback and Trevor makes fun of Matthew. Poor Matthew….
